Kuala Lumpur, 25 November 2025Ecorise Solar Sdn Bhd, in strategic collaboration with Yingli Group Co., Ltd. and NCT Century Sdn Bhd, announced a landmark renewable energy initiative during the ASEAN Technology Cooperation & Development Summit 2025 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), in the presence of Gezhouba Engineering (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Northern Gateway Sdn Bhd.

The representatives of this strategic collaboration were Dato’ Yap Fook Choy, Group Executive Director of NCT Group; Joe Lee Chee Seng, Managing Director of Ecorise Solar; and Miao Qing, Board Chairman of Yingli Group. The announcement was witnessed by Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy, Founder and Group Managing Director of NCT Group; Dong Hao, Managing Director of Gezhouba Engineering (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd; and Mohd Badri Dawood Abbasi, Corporate Director of NGX.

The partnership will deliver a 150MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) farm integrated with a 200MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Delapan Special Border Economic Zone (SBEZ), Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah. This milestone project is designed to enhance clean energy availability in Peninsular Malaysia, strengthen grid resilience, and support enterprises transitioning to low‑carbon operations.

We extend our appreciation to YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister II and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, for witnessing this milestone and for steadfast leadership in Malaysia’s energy transition.

Ecorise Solar will serve a principal role across the project lifecycle: engineering design, fund management and financing, energy offtake and sales upon completion, and long‑term Operations & Maintenance (O&M). The collaboration will be implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to ensure disciplined execution, investment participation, and high operational standards.

The partnership combines Yingli’s global solar technology and system expertise, Gezhouba’s proven engineering capabilities, and NCT Group’s coordination on land and regulatory matters to deliver an integrated, utility‑scale solution. Northern Gateway (NGX) will coordinate land matters within the Delapan SBEZ, reinforcing delivery readiness and regulatory compliance. The initiative complements NCT Group’s broader industrial ecosystem strategy in the northern corridor, including the NCT InnoSphere (NIS) managed industrial park.

Developed under the CRESS framework, the project is positioned to meet future demand from strategic data centre partners; Ecorise has secured pacts for prospective electricity sales with multiple data centre stakeholders to underpin bankability and offtake certainty.

Looking ahead, Ecorise and Yingli are expanding collaboration to scale integrated solar‑plus‑storage solutions across Malaysia and the region, targeting resilient, utility‑grade assets aligned to industrial and data centre demand. Ecorise’s pipeline of similar projects under this model is expected to reach approximately RM800 million in 2025 and 2026, reflecting strong market confidence and the scalability of our partnership approach.
